French for Engineers - Language, Culture and Society

  The course is aimed at students at LTH who want to activate and develop the French they have acquired from high-school or from LU’s beginner courses in French. The course mainly provides oral and written skills training, both in comprehension, production and interaction, but also covers basic knowledge of French society and French culture based on the texts included. The main features of French grammar are reviewed and practiced through reading various texts in French and through one’s own written production. Specialized texts are studied in terms of both content and language. Current topics linked to French social life are discussed in class and in small groups.
